ODXA Perspectives is a
once-a-month feature on DX Partyline, heard on HCJB, in
Ecuador. Hosted by long-time shortwave listener and ODXA
member Greg Schatzmann, it generally runs 5 to 7 minutes
in length and attempts to deliver news about the Ontario
DX Association, as well as profiles of club activities and
those involved with the organization.
Often the program features
an interview with a member of the club talking about a
particular service/event/activity with which they're
involved. From time-to-time there's also information about
shortwave or domestic broadcasting activity that would be
of interest to radio hobbyists elsewhere.
The
program also encourages listeners to find out more about the ODXA,
either by writing or checking out other sources such as the web
site.
ODXA Perspectives
originally began as ODXA Report in the mid-1980's, and
other hosts over the years have included James Careless,
Andy Reid, Cindy Ellen Morgan, Chris Meloche, and Steve
Canney. Current host Greg Schatzmann has been in the radio
hobby for over 30 years and a member of the ODXA since
1987, acquiring his amateur radio ticket in 1988 (VE3GJS).
Greg has had a career in broadcasting since 1981, and is
currently the manager of CJLX-FM in Belleville, a
campus-based community broadcaster, a position he has held
since 1992.
