As a service to our visually impaired and blind members, we offer a taped version of our magazine: Listening In on Tape (formerly known as DX Ontario on Tape). Joe Robinson tapes each monthly issue onto two sixty minute audio cassettes for those wishing to receive this version of Listening In. This service, now in its 12th year of operation, can be requested in place of the printed magazine, or for an additional charge, can be received along with the printed version.

Approximately 60 - 70% of the magazine is taped, including most monthly columns, all classifieds and all special articles. The Target Listening (by country) column is placed onto an additional sixty minute tape twice a year, in April and in November. The only items missing from the original are the advertisements, the mail order form, and the charts that appear in the magazine, the BBC Schedule, USA Survey and the World English Survey.

Anyone wishing to receive our monthly magazine in this form should contact us via mail, e-mail or by phoning 416-297-0449.

Some additional information: Joe reports that it takes him approximately four to six hours to tape each issue of Listening In, including editing, and that some members receive the tape in addition to the magazine so that they can listen to the magazine in their cars on the way to work! Joe also states that currently four members are utilizing this service, and he has produced as many as 6 per month, and has had over 20 different members receive the magazine in this format over the past twelve years.

Many thanks to Joe Robinson for his dedication and perseverance to this cause over the years.
